Welcome to Save A Life—Suicide Awareness and Prevention

Suicide is currently the third leading cause of death among young people aged 10 to 19 years in the United States. Often, teens who are considering suicide give warning signs to their family or friends, but lack of knowledge and understanding can lead to these signs being ignored.

At Save A Life, Inc. we believe that suicide IS preventable, and that by increasing awareness we can help you to recognize the warning signs and take the right actions. By doing so, you may be able to provide help for a troubled teen before they do something as irreversible as suicide.

We try to reach schools and communities with our message, provide information to local professionals who partner with us and financial assistance to families at risk of teen suicide.

OUR MISSION

Save A Life, Inc. was formed to raise awareness about the reality of suicide among teens and young adults. Our primary goal is to educate the community and remove barriers that separate at-risk persons from help.

We do this by educating the community on the signs to watch out for, by developing the awareness among friends and family members about the prevalence of teen suicides. We also provide information and resources you can use if you believe someone is thinking about suicide.



Suicide is a serious public health problem that affects even young people.

"Most people are uncomfortable with the topic of suicide. As a result, people don't communicate openly about the subject. This means that an important public health problem is left shrouded in secrecy, which limits the amount of information available to those working to prevent suicide." (CDC)
